Scholarship Info

The Prince George's County Maryland  Chapter (PGCMDC) of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association  (NSUAA) is now accepting applications for our 2026–2027 merit, book, and legacy scholarships. The various scholarships are provided to assist students who are Maryland residents in reaching their academic goals at Norfolk State University.

If you are a high school senior who will be attending NSU, a current NSU student, or have a legacy connection to NSU, we encourage you to apply today. Please view the links provided below for additional qualifications for each scholarship application 

All applications must be received by the deadline.

NSU Scholarship Letter - Counselor 2026- 2027

The Prince George’s County Maryland Chapter (PGCMDC) of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association (NSUAA) provides a $1000 merit scholarship ($500 per semester) to assist incoming Maryland residents who will be attending Norfolk State University (NSU). In addition, a separate $500 book scholarship is provided to an incoming Maryland resident to assist with the cost of books. By awarding these scholarships our chapter is able to help NSU students reach academic goals, as well as give back to the community in which we live and work. Located in Norfolk, Virginia, NSU prides itself on the ability to offer deserving students the opportunity to earn a college education and achieve with excellence throughout their lives.

NSU Alumni Scholarship - 2026 -2027 Current NSU Student

The time of year has come for the Prince George’s County Maryland Chapter (PGCMDC) of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association (NSUAA) to select a $250 Book Scholarship recipient. Each year, the chapter provides assistance to a current Norfolk State University student who meets the requirements to receive the award. The scholarship recipient will receive $250 for the upcoming semester as long as the student maintains the academic requirement.

NSU 2026-2027 Legacy Scholarship

The Prince George’s County Maryland Chapter (PGCMDC) of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association (NSUAA) provides a $1,000 Alumni Legacy Scholarship ($500 per semester) to assist currently enrolled undergraduate student or an admitted and entering full time freshman who will be attending Norfolk State University (NSU). By awarding scholarships, our chapter is able to help students reach academic goals, as well as give back to the community in which we live and work.

Scholarship Recipients

1. Samya Ampofoh - $500 Book Scholarship -  Entering NSU Freshman (Currently attends Hammond High School and has 3.95 GPA)
2. Adam Moskowitz - $250 Book Scholarship -  Returning NSU Senior  
3. Aleila Rankin - $250 Book Scholarship -  Returning NSU Junior
4. Sabrina Martin - $1,000 Legacy Scholarship -  Returning NSU Sophomore
 
The other recipients have acknowledged their awards and accepted.
