NSUF 5K Run/Walk TEAM: Prince George's County MD

The Norfolk State University Foundation (NSUF) is hosting its annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 18th from 9:00am - 12:00pm.   This year marks the 5th anniversary of this exhilarating event.
 
Our TEAM:  Prince George's County MD.  The Prince George’s County MD is proud to participate in the Green & Gold 5K in support of Norfolk State University students. This event is more than a run—it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact by raising both awareness and funds for student success. Whether you choose to walk, jog, or run, every step helps empower education and build brighter futures.
 
 
You have two options to complete the event. 
1. You may come out and join the Chapter at Watkins Park at 8:00 am (arrive by 8:15 a.m.) on 04/18/2025,  we will start at 8:30am  or 
2. You may participate wherever you are between those hours.
 
Use the Watkins Park Drive entrance.  We will meet in the parking lot near ball fields 1 and 5.  It’s the first parking lot when you enter the park, 301 Watkins Park Dr Upper Marlboro, MD 20774   Wear your Spartan Gear!
 
Don’t want to Walk/Run?? You still have the option to donate and support a University that has done so much for us and our lives. This link is a direct link to the chapter's page for the 5K:  https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/NSUFRunWalk26/team/PrinceGeorgesCountyMD  -----> Make a Donation” to register as a runner or walker.  To do so, you must select runner or walker under the “I Will Join the Run/Walk as a” section and click on the plus sign changing the option to 1. 

You will receive two emails.
 
  • One email thanking you for your contribution.
  • The other email will thank you for becoming a fundraiser and provide you with a link to share. The link will take those wanting to support you directly to the team you created.

2026 tournament

The MEAC: Norfolk State Enters Tournament as the
No. 3 and No. 4 Seeds


The 2026 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament runs Wednesday, March 11, through Saturday, March 14, at Norfolk Scope Arena.

The three-time defending tournament champion Norfolk State women finished the regular season 11-3 and enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed. The women begin play in Thursday’s quarterfinal against No. 6 Morgan State at 2 p.m.

The Norfolk State men (15–16 overall) enter tournament play as the No. 4 seed following an 84–76 loss to Howard in the season finale. Quarterfinal action begins Thursday, March 12, with No. 4 Norfolk State taking on No. 5 South Carolina State in a rematch of last year’s tournament championship game at 6 p.m.

The MEAC Basketball Tournament is a single-elimination event featuring both the conference’s men’s and women’s teams. Quarterfinal and semifinal games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

The men’s championship game will tip off at 1 p.m. and air live on ESPN2. The women’s championship game will follow at 4 p.m. and will air live on ESPNews

As the Chapter President, I am Grateful for the blessings God has given me.  Luke 12:38 (KJV) "But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."

Thankful for the gift of giving.  My husband and I will be inducted into the 2025 Lyman Beecher Brooks Society Friday, September 19 at the President's Gala in honor of our 90th Anniversary.  The Lyman Beecher Brooks Society recognizes individuals, whose cumulative giving to Norfolk State University has reached $100,000 or more. The members of this prestigious group are presented a distinguished University award in recognition of their lifetime giving and commitment to Norfolk State University.
